Community-Led Tree Plantation Drives

Community-Led Tree Plantation Drives

DG Rural Development Society will launch Community-Led Tree Plantation Drives to involve villagers directly in restoring green cover and combating climate change. Our approach will focus on planting native, drought-resistant, and fruit-bearing species that provide environmental, economic, and nutritional benefits.

We will work closely with local schools, youth groups, women’s self-help groups, and farmers to ensure active participation in every stage — from site selection and soil preparation to planting, watering, and long-term care of the trees. Educational workshops will raise awareness about the importance of trees for soil health, biodiversity, and air quality.

The program will also promote agroforestry models, enabling farmers to integrate trees into their agricultural practices for shade, soil enrichment, and additional income through timber, fruits, or medicinal plants.

By making tree plantation a community-owned initiative, DG Rural Development Society will foster environmental stewardship, enhance rural resilience, and create a lasting green legacy for future generations.
